We are driven by a passion for fostering collaboration and partnership, working closely with individuals, organizations, and institutions to build a more inclusive and vibrant city.

Our Vision
The Newcomers Association of Toronto envisions a city where all immigrants are empowered to share their talents, skills, values, and cultures, enriching and transforming our community into a more inclusive and vibrant place for everyone.
Our Mission
The Newcomers Association of Toronto is dedicated to supporting immigrants as they transition to making Canada their home. We offer innovative and responsive programs tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of our community. By fostering partnerships built on mutual respect, we create healthy and inclusive spaces that encourage open dialogue and promote healing, ensuring newcomers feel welcomed and supported throughout their journey.
Our Values
At the Newcomers Association of Toronto, our core values reflect our commitment to empowering immigrants and creating an inclusive, vibrant Canadian society:
– Dignity and Respect: We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, has the potential to enrich Canadian society through their unique contributions. By respecting the diverse cultures and experiences of newcomers, we foster an environment where positive change can thrive.
– Equity and Inclusion: We are committed to cultivating a safe, welcoming space that is free of harassment and discrimination. Both our clients and staff have a shared responsibility to protect and nurture an environment that values diversity and promotes equality.

– Adaptability and Integrity: In our ever-evolving world, we remain effective and adaptable in responding to the challenges faced by newcomers. We approach each situation with principle and care, ensuring our actions are grounded in integrity.

– Social Justice and Systemic Change: We believe that meaningful progress towards social justice requires the transformation of our systems and institutions. We are dedicated to advocating for and supporting the evolution of these structures to better serve newcomers and create a more just society for all.

Advancing Racial Justice and Equity
At the Newcomers Association of Toronto, we recognize the inherent dignity and value of every individual. We are committed to creating a safe, accessible, and inclusive environment that respects all people, regardless of race or background. Our Racial Justice and Equity Committee (RJEC) provides vital guidance and support to our leadership as we strive to improve racial justice and equity both within our organization and in the communities we serve.
The RJEC actively addresses racial discrimination, systemic inequities, and the oppression that racialized staff, clients, and community members often face. Each committee member is entrusted with the responsibility to champion equity and inclusion, aligning with our organization’s anti-racism and anti-oppression policies. We are committed to ensuring that our practices promote fairness, challenge injustice, and contribute to the creation of a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
At the Newcomers Association of Toronto, we are deeply committed to providing services that respect the dignity and independence of individuals with disabilities. In alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), we ensure that all customers with disabilities have equal access to high-quality and timely services, just as others do.
We make every reasonable effort to develop policies, programs, and services—along with the necessary procedures and practices—that guarantee accessibility for individuals with disabilities. This includes effective communication tailored to meet specific needs, and accommodating the use of assistive devices, as well as welcoming individuals accompanied by service animals or support persons.

Our staff undergo comprehensive training to better serve individuals with disabilities, following the guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services. We are always open to feedback, and any concerns or suggestions regarding accessibility can be directed to our Chief Human Resources and Operations Manager at chro@newcomers.org.
We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can engage with our services confidently and independently.
